Method
1. add dal, spinach, tomato, little onion, little tumeric 1 clove garlic to pressure cooker and cook till you hear one whistle.
2. fry mustard seeds (let pop) onion, curry leaves, garlic, green chili in canola oil, then add some sambar powder- more if you want it to be spicy

  8. Rebecca, you are going to get me to cook Indian sooner or later. I have to make a trip to the Asian store for the unusual ingredients I need.

  9. I love Indian food, but for some reason I don't cook it often enough. (Though coincidentally I'm planning on making an Indian dish tonight!) This looks very yummy, and so do-able! Going on the list for sure!

  15. Lovely-I normally add a little tamarind extract too. I've even tried this with beet greens-adds a nice pink hue to the dal. Try it next time you have beet greens :)
