Maintain a Healthy Weight to Protect your Joints




MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT TO PREVENT OSTEOARTHRITIS:

 Recent evidence in 336 patients who were overweight and at risk of Osteoarthritis showed at 30 month follow up 20.2% showed loss of knee cartilage and 5.8% had rapid loss. For every one-unit increase in BMI the chances of loss increased 11%.

Yet another study highlighting the need maintain a healthy weight, with a BMI less than 25. If your struggling enlist the help of a dietitian to support you, make changes with your family and start making small changes today.

  2. No wonder my knee has been hurting! I gained weight since I started food blogging. But I am happy to say I am back into my routine of working out and have lost a few now.

  5. Oh yes, we have to take real care of ourselves especially when we are getting older! I always watch my body weight. I normally take more food during the day and cut down food intake in the evening. So, I eat very very little at dinner. In addition, we need to take some xtra suppliments.
