Cod in a Miso and Plum Sauce

I am still enjoying experimenting with miso in the kitchen. So next up is a dish with cod, miso and a little plum sauce. It was easy to make a tad sweet but all in all a fun dish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon of mirin
  • 2 tablespoon of sake
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of miso paste
  • one tablespoon plum sauce
Method:

  1. heat the mirin and sake in a pan for a few minutes then add the miso and sugar
  2. cook for 5 minutes add plum sauce, allow it to cool then pour over the fish and marinate for 2-3 hours
  3. poach in a pan for about 10 minutes or until its just cooked
  4. eat with rice and vegetables
Whats on your menu this week?, if your like me I decide on the day :-)

  10. I'm glad you like Miso, Rebecca. We often marinate cod in miso and mirin for a few hours and just broil it. I'll need to post that dish because it's so easy to cook and so delicious!
