Apples with Caramel Sauce

When my parents were here, I thought it would be fun to coat sliced apples in caramel I got the recipe from Nelly its fun to have a pastry chef friend! - Rebel Caramel , follow the link for great instructions. It amazed me how simple sugar and water with milk can make a wonderful caramel sauce. I would have liked this to be a tad thicker and another pastry chef friend suggested adding to Greek yogurt as a dip, love this idea. Jenni from The Balanced Pastry Chef

Its a fun activity for fall and its apple season :-)

Talking of fruits and vegetables, research done in Canada shows that people who ate more fruits and vegetables had a lower risk of heart disease despite a genetic predisposition now that's wonderful news

  29. When my girls were younger (and still at home!) apples and yogurt were a favorite after school snack. I used one of the those handy tools that cored the apple and cut it into slices - we called it the apple boater because it made them into little boats - then everyone could dip their boats into plain yogurt with a little sugar or honey. Delicious, interactive and healthy. They probably would have liked caramel sauce even better. :)
