So we spent a fun few days in Melbourne walking around, taking the trams. There is even a free one in the city center :-), and enjoying good food. It was so much fun meeting Emma and then fellow food bloggers, Penny from Jeroxie, Kim from Kimba's Kitchen and Suresh from Three Hungry Tummies. Be sure to check out Kim's wonderful post with pictures of all the delicious Malaysian food.
We went to Phillip Island yesterday 2 hrs south of Melbourne, there is a wonderful working farm on Churchhill island complete with working dogs and sheep shearing.

Hi all we arrived safely after the LONG journey down under and are having fun. Melbourne is a vibrant, multicultural city with great food and friendly people. The weather is a tad changeable not unlike the UK my homeland. Yesterday we visited the Queen Victoria market wow foodie heaven, great foods, fresh produce, meats, clothes, and a food hall. Here are a few snaps to share the experience with you all and a small clip. I don't have internet so am using the free wifi in the Lobby for this post!
A little tour
Inside the market there are over 1000 venders!
Wonderful fresh produce much of it grown in Australia
This butcher made me smile!
If your in Melbourne be sure to take the little side alleys between the main streets so many amazing places to eat and folks sitting outside.
Pretty Victorian arcades, reminds me of Leeds in the UK.
I also meet Emma Stirling a dietitian here in Australia I meet on twitter we had the most lovely afternoon and our kids played together, I felt like I had known her for years she is the sweetest person ever.
I made her do a clip on her top things to see as a local!, see below:
This evening we are meeting local Melbourne food bloggers for dinner, will write another post in a couple of days to fill you all in.
Much love from the lovely land down under, sorry I can't visit your blogs, hard with no internet
Love and hugs

While I am not Hindu (I am Christian) and my hubby is South Indian and didn't really grow up celebrating Holi, I always love seeing it in Movies when folks wear white clothes and throw colorful powders on each other. It symbols the colors of spring :-) well to me :-)
If you celebrate a fun festival drop me a line would love to have guest post so much fun
Bon Voyage :-) will blog from down under in a few days and tweet for sure :-)

I got this amazing recipe from Angie's blog, Angie's Recipes Taste of Home, I started reading her blog shortly after I started blogging and was amazed at the range of dishes she can cook, Asian dishes, German, cakes, bread, amazing salads the list goes on. This chicken dish is easy to make and I love the fresh chives. Its quite similar to a German/Swiss dish I cooked - Zurcher Geschnetzeltes with Spaetzle (pork and noodles!) and just love it. I made it just like Angie's minus the mustard.
Again thanks to blogging my little family got another great meal on the table love you all.

I made these fun little cupcakes the other day with our little one, they are like mini victoria sandwiches my favorite British cake I go mad for this in the tea rooms when I go home!
I also just read Natasha's blog Five Minutes for me and she mentioned a bloggers event this Friday March 18th - Bloggers day of Silence for Japan, I plan to join maybe you can too :-)

I made this super easy dish the other day for the little one as she loves Asian food and Shrimp. It can be thrown together in a jiffy in fact hubby asked how long it took to make, I said 15 minutes and he even now says why not make more dishes like this its tasty and easier for me.
Finally I think he sees why I don't cook Indian dishes as much as before, while I really enjoy them they just take time. I was joking with my sis in law as she was saying how she is struggling to learn British food but if you can cook Indian cuisine others are easy!
I was thrilled to hear she made her hubby a chicken stew from my blog today and they both enjoyed it. She's a great cook and has excelled in the last few years the other day she made a chocolate cake for one of my brother in laws birthdays being the foodie that I am I picked up the phone straight away to say how good it looked! My hubby is the eldest of 7 so lots of good cooks in his family. In fact this fall one of his brothers is getting married in Burma/ Myamah. I got his fiancee to share a Burmese recipe a while back heres the link - Burmese Chicken Curry
I won't be able to go with 2 little ones but can't wait to see pictures and the food at the wedding will try and share with you all.

I have been craving British comfort food lately a fun pregnancy craving. I made this cod fish pie recently easy to make and very satisfying, hubby wasn't so sure but will forgive him he has a spicy palate :-)
I love this dish as you can make a big pot and have leftovers great when your busy and just want to heat up a tasty meal.
In fact my sweet sister in law is also married to a Brit and they live in the UK I was touched the other night when skyping them she had made a chicken pie pastry and all and on pancake day her hubby made pancakes for all to try. Its so much fun when two cultures get together. That's why we love travel so much exploring new countries the traditions and food. But you don't need to get on a plane to do that try new restaurants in your town and make friends with folks from different countries then pick their brains for recipes!

This wonderful post by Little Foodie in Hawaii made me stop and think today as the family drove to higher ground for safety in the Tsnnami warnings. It made me smile at the end when she said she wouldn't let her hubby surf.
Its at times like this as we think of the folks in Japan that we need to hold our loved ones close and say that we love them. Each and every day we have is a gift, be sure to enjoy the present.
There's a link to donate to red cross below and if you know fellow bloggers in Japan on twitter or on their blogs be sure to send them love and prayers. One lovely blogger I meet is The Lacquer spoon a super sweet lady who lives in Tokyo http://thelacquerspoon.blogspot.com/ she used to comment here a lot before getting busy with work. I always smile as she studied in the UK for a while and understands the food and culture. Be sure to drop her a line or tweet to keep her spirits up, all in all folks are frightened and are still feeling after shocks a few virtual hugs would help :-)

I was featured today on a cool local website titled: Triad Moms on Main, its a wonderful site featuring great blog posts, local events for families, shopping, giveaways, travel, health and food. If your in the NC Triad area be sure to check it out. I love local sites in fact when I first moved it was local moms sites that hooked me into playdate's and allowed me to make the wonderful friends I have here.
What are your favorite local sites where you live?

I made my first tea loaf the other day, we really enjoyed it. The tea loaf is loaded with fruit and very little sugar so makes a great snack :-) when hubby got back from his trip last week, he took some to work and left me a note " Cake really good, love you, good morning" now thats my kind of note made my day.

A while back I decided I would do blog posts highlighting talented folks on etsy or selling things. I have a friend here in town with a sister in Florida I remember visiting her house recently for a playdate, our daughter adores her son :-) and her showing me a wonderful photographic calender her sister had made. I loved it, then not long ago I had the pleasure of meeting her at Bible Fellowship when she was in town visiting I remember thinking how cool she looked and her sense of style.
Recently my friend posted a link on facebook to her etsy store, the power of social media right there. I added her sister as a friend and offered to introduce you all to her. She is cool, works full time from home and has three kids, I so admire parents who decide to decide to work from home, to be there more for their kids and juggle work as well. Here follows a little about K (she is shy :-)) and her lovely Vintage store :-)

So excited to share my first fish tacos with you all, I have eaten them at restaurants mostly in Florida one of my favorite is a place called Pelican landing a small pub/bar at the Hyatt Regency pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale the food is so so but the views are amazing and you don't need to be at the hotel to eat there. Its at the intersection of two waterways and you can watch the multimillion dollar yachts and their crews.
But maybe just have a drink there for the view and make the tacos at home!
I didn't realize how easy they were to cook, until I saw them on a food blog the other day thats what I love about blogs, it inspired me to come up with Rebecca's version :-)

I made scones recently and they actually turned out to be pretty good, not my Grandma's but there is hope that I may master it yet!, scones and tea are a match made in heaven especially when they are warm with Jam and a cup of tea. So why not treat yourself this weekend to a British afternoon tea, pull up a chair for a natter with me!

I made this super easy soup recently nice and tasty but will be glad when the little one likes spice as it needed a kick ;-) Hope your having a good week, I am doing well, I had my third social media coaching client today having so much fun with this new venture. Then next week I am speaking about app development to Linking Greensboro a business networking meeting. Eek a little nervous as 45 people will be there, wish me luck.
