Blueberry lemonade

This pretty lemonade is very easy to make and even more fun to make with a cute little helper. We also made a couple of cystallized flowers by dipping in egg yolk and sugar and drying overnight and adding them for a fun garnish. I think this would be cool for a cocktail too. Lemonade is so much fun on a hot day and the combinations are endless we also made a watermelon one recently.

Ingredients:

for two small glasses

  • a handful of blueberries
  • juice of a lemon
  • sugar to taste about 2 tablespoon
  • handful of ice
  • 2 cups of water
Method:

  1. squeeze the lemons, add the water and blueberries
  2. mash the blueberries up a little
  3. mix in the sugar and ice
  4. garnish the flowers
  5. enjoy

We returned from a wonderful trip to Puerto Rico this week, it was truly a great Island to visit posts to follow, feel free to see facebook page for photos. Unfortunately our wee guy got sick the last day so we visited the local ER flew back and saw a dr here, he has an ear infection and hand, foot and mouth and is slowly recovering. Good lesson is to always choose destinations with hospitals close by with little ones.

One of the towns we visited in Puerto Rico was Ponce in the South I was really taken with the old Spanish buildings there, this one is the historical museum. Stay tuned for a photographic blog post of this charming town.
