Hummus is something we have in the fridge at all times, it makes a great snack it is nutritious and satisfying. It is also very easy to make and you can add extras like red peppers and so on. My daughter really enjoys making this. 


  • one can of chickpeas
  • 2 cloves of garlic 
  • a dash of olive oil
  • salt to taste 
  • a sprinkle of zaatar 
  • 1-2 teaspoons of tahini (when I made this I didn't have any so I pan roasted sesame seeds for 5-7 minutes then blended with canola or olive oil) 
  • a little water to get desired consistency 

  1. blend all the ingredients 
  2. then drizzle a little olive oil and zaatar. 
  3. serve with pitta bread or chips, or as a side with tabouleh.
