Spicy Shrimp and Spaghetti

Here's a simple and flavorful recipe for those busy week nights. This could also be good without shrimp or with added vegetables.


  • 1/2 a packet of wild caught NC frozen shrimp or a bowl of your local shrimp.
  • one can of tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • a handful of fresh basil chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1/2 a red onion chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a dash of white balsamic vinegar
  • spaghetti
  • pea shoots to garnish 

  1. sauté garlic and onion in olive oil for about 5 minutes add the balsamic vinegar and red chili flakes for another few minutes.
  2. then add the can of chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper and fresh basil stir for 3-4 minutes.
  3. remove from heat and blend to make a sauce, return to the pan and add the raw shrimp, cover and cook the shrimp for 5 minutes or until cooked. 
  4. serve over spaghetti with a side salad.
