Chocolate Brownies

My daughter loves brownies especially the ones in Krankies coffee shop in Winston Salem. On valentines day we had some fun and made some together and decorated them with edible flowers from our garden.

Ingredients:

  • 4oz unsalted butter, softened.
  • 6oz sugar.
  • 2 eggs.
  • a handful of semi sweet chocolate pieces.
  • 2oz pecans or any desired nuts.
  • 1 tsp baking powder.
  • 2oz plain flour.
  • 2oz cocoa powder.
Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. line a cake tin with foil.
  3. cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Chop the pecans, fold the nuts and chocolate into the butter and egg mixture.
  5. Add the baking powder, then sift in the flour and cocoa powder and mix, the mixture will be quite wet.
  6. Spoon the brownie batter into tin and level out.
  7. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes.
  8. allow to cool and cut into little squares, drizzle with chocolate and decorate with edible violas.

Hope your all well, its the time of year that my parents visit from Scotland really excited for their arrival soon.
