Must See Places in Singapore
Singapore is a wonderful stopover when visiting other places in Asia or en route to Australia, or as a destination in itself. As a country, it is a wonderful mix of cultures and has 4 languages - Mandarin, Tamil, English and Malay. It is home to a wide variety of people and has a great and diverse food scene. Famous for its food courts, many are found under malls with affordable selections of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Indonesian, Peranakan, and European cuisine.
Singapore is famous for its waterfront, high-rises and cool architecture, and malls, but did you know it also offers amazing gardens, nature, and hiking!

Another place to visit is the MacRitchie Nature Trail and reservoir. This trail has an awesome tree-top part and a bridge high up in the trees. There are monkeys, monitor lizards, birds and butterflies, and lots of wildlife. Be prepared for humidity though and bugs. Dress in breathable clothes and bring lots of water. This is easy to get to via Uber or taxis. We parked at the Windsor Nature Park, 30 Venus Dr, Singapore 573858.
Be sure to check out the Joo Chiat area of the city, although I confess it was more my cup of tea than the rest of the family. It has Perankan houses built by descendants of Chinese immigrants who moved into Southeast Asia in the 15th and 16th centuries. It has traditional food and colorful shop houses and cool street art.

Love some cool street art.
A monitor Lizard
The beautiful shophouses.
Another wonderful place to visit is Marina Sands and Gardens by the Bay, with free music and a light show in the evenings. Again, I enjoyed the fusion of music representing Singapore's diversity.

I also want to mention it's easy to get around; a lot of the city center is walkable there are taxis, and the metro and local buses are great.
The Beautiful Skyline at night.
